AIRUS biogas blower Indonesia

Biogas Generation

Indonesian Palm Power develops projects in which biomass is converted into biogas. To achieve this, anaerobic digestion technology is used. Anaerobic digestion: a collection of processes by which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. If the matter consist 15% or more of dry material, we speak of Dry Anaerobic Digestion (DAD), otherwise we speak of Wet Anaerobic Digestion (WAD). In most projects, we will use DAD technology. Characteristics of Dry Anaerobic Digestion:

High energy conversion efficiency
No combustion process: low intensity (increase longevity of equipment)
No water requirement
Scalable
Multiple revenue options: biogas and/or electricity, fertilizer

Potential Feedstock for the DAD tanks is extensive, examples:

Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) from Palm Oil Mills
Waste from Sugarcane
Landfill bio-waste

The produced Biogas can be used for:

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Electricity generation

Moreover, the residual material after the Anaerobic digestion process is valuable for the use of fertilizer.

Anaerobic technology in combination with the abundance supply of feedstock and the high demand of possibilities results in great opportunities for projects with high IRR’s. Moreover, it has:

High energy conversion efficiency
No combustion process: low intensity
Technology is proven & worldwide adopted
Easily scalable to additional plants
Indonesian Palm Power owns patents and patent applications in the field of biological and mechanical waste treatment
Great feedstock possibilities throughout Indonesia
Multiple revenue options: biogas (CNG/LNG) and/or electricity, fertilizer
High demand both domestic (electricity, CNG, fertilizer) and international (CNG, LNG, fertilizer)
