Iconic Island Implementation (Biomass Gasification Power Plant) Indonesia
Iconic Island Implementation (Biomass Gasification Power Plant) is a project organized by EBTKE under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in 2013 which is intended to villagers in the District Lewa RakaWatu East Sumba, NTT.
The purpose of this project is:
The utilization of biomass from rice husks into a high-powered electrical energy.
The utilization of local natural resources with environmentally friendly technologies.
Improving quality of life through the application of green technology
Infrastructure provision for electric energy for the productive enterprises.
Biomass Gasification Power Plant uses Diesel engine with a capacity of 60 kVA which is modified so that it is a dual-fuel engine using syngas (gasification) and diesel fuel with a percentage of 70:30. Biomass used is gasified rice husks to produce syngas which is then used as fuel. There are currently 75 families that benefit from this power plant. The gasification process scheme is as follows:
People in the village previously use kerosene for lighting. Once the Biomass Gasification Power Plant is built, the public can enjoy the power that comes from renewable energy with raw materials that exist in their area, which is rice husk.
